------------ UPDATE: NOVEMBER 18th 2021
------------
As of today, thanks to all of you who generously supported this album, we donated the sum of 2,705.82 USD to Impact Lebanon for the Bomb Disaster Relief! Since they reached their goal (yay!) we are now sending album proceeds to
Baytnabaytak.com - Baytna Baytak is a registered NGO and a beehive operation who’s is simultaneously managing the rebuilding of damaged houses and providing housing for displaced citizens and healthcare workers in Beirut.
------------
On August 4th, a devastating explosion hit the city of Beirut, Lebanon. Within moments, over 300,000 lives changed, homes obliterated and blood spilled. There is now immense pressure on the people as basic necessities have been taken away from them: safe housing, healthcare, electricity, water, food and more importantly, their dignity.
Once again, the lingering unending tale that a government doesn't stand with and for its people is validated. The little trust that was there is now fully dismantled as there is nowhere people can turn to but themselves.
We are in an era of narrative collapse. But we can rewrite the story. We have decided to stand together as artists and do what lies within our means to try to influence the unfolding of this disaster for the better, as much as possible.
The world is our home. When our brothers and sisters are falling down, it’s our responsibility to be present, listen, amplify their voice & assist in any ways we can if we have the privilege to do so.
We come to you with 'Espoir à Beyrouth' - a collection of music from various corners of our beautiful planet by Alvaro Suarez, Agha, Adrius, döb, Hierophanthor, Javier Portilla, Kora, Madota, Oiseau de Nuit., Richard Salazar & Wuachuma. We want to thank all these artists and friends for gifting meaningful music for the people of Lebanon.
100% of the proceeds from this compilation will go to the Disaster Relief for Beirut Explosion Crowdfunding from ‘Impact Lebanon’ as they carefully select the right NGOs to work with on the ground to support the Lebanese population after the tragic event.
